𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?
Two weeks ago, media across B.C. covered the Province's announcement of a two-year, $16 million expansion of the Chronic Property Offending Intervention Initiative.
The City of Kamloops chose to issue its own news release.
Instead of simply explaining what the announcement means for residents, nearly half the release was devoted to highlighting Council's advocacy, with Deputy Mayor Mike O'Reilly saying Council "looks forward to building on this work."
With Councillor Mike O'Reilly running for Mayor and all but one member of Council already seeking re-election, City Hall and Council should remember:
