Questions Grow Around Kamloops PAC Cost Increases

“𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭.”

Now the City is claiming the issues driving PAC cost increases were all known and planned for—but when costs were climbing, the story was different.

If it was all anticipated, the project wouldn’t be $57 million over the $154M total project budget residents were asked to approve through the AAP.

And now—the City is suddenly adding the 2024 AAP court challenge to the reasons for rising costs—and referring to a four-month delay as eight months—when in fact the court process occurred during the planning stage, long before construction began.

The facts are clear. This isn’t sound planning—it’s damage control.
