Kamloops ranked 156th out of 156 B.C. municipalities for Net Financial Assets (Debt) in 2024.

The City says this measure doesn't tell the whole story, and accounting standards are changing in 2027 to include non-financial assets such as roads, buildings, and infrastructure.

It will be interesting to see where Kamloops ranks once all municipalities are reporting under the same revised standard.

Hopefully it provides a clearer picture of the City's overall financial position relative to its peers.
