Build Kamloops was sold to the public on city growth.
It’s unclear where the City sourced the claim that Kamloops is “Canada’s third fastest-growing city,” but neither Statistics Canada nor provincial population data support that description for our municipal growth.
PAC costs now substantially exceed the original council-approved budget by $57 million (about 37%), forcing the use of reserve funds—past tax dollars—to cover a shortfall created by poor upfront planning.
Increased debt. Unexpected slowing of growth. Higher taxes.
Something to keep in mind at voting time this October.
