Rezoning Alert: 54-Unit BC Housing Supportive Wet Housing on Fortune Drive

A rezoning application for a 54-unit BC Housing supportive wet housing facility at 327 Fortune Drive, 321 Fortune Drive, and 285 Leigh Road is going before Kamloops City Council this Tuesday, February 4.

-Are you a North Shore resident?

-Have you been consulted by BC Housing or the City regarding this major densification of wet housing on the North Shore?

-Do you have concerns about placing this facility just a few blocks from an existing shelter?

Now is the time to make your voice heard!

City Council needs to hear from the community before the meeting.

BC Housing claims they conducted additional community consultation—but their own application states that only 15 people were consulted. Is that enough to represent the voices of North Shore residents?

We believe all levels of housing are important, but in this instance, our community would be better served by subsidized housing for seniors or working families struggling to make ends meet (with larger homes or condominions for a family)—not another wet housing facility in this area.
