ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!![]()
Though plans for a new $150M RCMP station were already in the works, City Hall conveniently left that out when rushing through the $275M Performing Arts Centre and Arena Multiplex.
Both were approved using an AAP-a backwards voting process where not voting counts as yes. ![]()
Now, they’re suddenly pushing for $200M instead of $150M, and once again trying to bypass a real vote-with another AAP,
Had you known that the city was facing another $200M expenditure-in addition to the PAC and Multiplex loan bylaws -would you have supported them?
If this project is so essential, why not let the public decide in the 2026 election, just 17 months away?
This isn’t transparency, it’s manipulation.![]()
A $200K referendum is a mere 0.0727% of the cost of the $275M debt that council was fine saddling taxpayers with.
Kamloops residents deserve open, honest consultation, not reverse-consent loopholes and shady spending tactics. ![]()
Your rent and taxes are already stretched. We can’t afford another massive loan with no public mandate. ![]()
Statistics Canada confirms Kamloops has the highest metropolitan unemployment in BC. Residents are stretched thin now, and will be completely tapped out in a few years. ![]()
If you think there’s a homeless problem now-expect a tidal wave.
Vote NO on the RCMP AAP. ![]()
If this council was serious about public safety, they’d repeal the PAC and Multiplex funding bylaws — not ask you to bankroll everything, including vanity projects. ![]()
They don’t get to spend hundreds of millions, and then come back asking for more. Enough is enough.
Voting No means you’re saying No to the process-not the project. It means that if the AAP fails, council will be then forced to hold a democratic referendum afterwards, or at election time.
It’s time to take action, Kamloops.![]()
