Controversial Councillors linked to Construction Proposal which Confounds Valleyview Vikes

A rezoning application for properties in Valleyview by development firm A&T Developments is under fire from long time Valleyview residents.

The proposal will see a rezoning of the properties on Glenwood Drive across the road from Valleyview Secondary School double in height from the current three stories available to 6.

At least one neighbour who was not in on the sale of the properties to A&T Development will be subjected to years of construction at the end of which their home will be in the shadow of this behmothic building. Many neighbours are also concerned at the lack of parking planned for the development.

Individuals linked to A&T Developments – including all 4 partners – played key financial roles in the 2022 municipal election.

In an election which already stands out as having by far the most donations in any Kamloops civic election; A&T linked individuals donated a total of $27,000 to 4 specific candidates – Mike O’Reilly, Bill Sarai, Dale Bass, and failed mayoral candidate Dieter Dudy.

Elected Mayor Reid Hamer Jackson was not a part of this slate.
