City of Kamloops Management Cost

***This affects YOU, Kamloops! ***

Did you know that managing the city of Kamloops pays more than managing the entire province of BC—by more than double?

Yes, you read that right.

2023 stats:

BC Premier David Eby$227,111
Kamloops CAO David Trawin$309,238
Deputy CAO Byron McCorkell$242,652
Total$551,890

Note: McCorkell is acting in Trawin’s position while on leave.

Note: Each BC city’s council and administrative staff decide on specific titles/roles. Eg; Kelowna uses the title “City Manager” instead of “CAO” and does not have a Deputy position as Kamloops does.

Kamloops residents need to take action against our city’s Municipal Spending Madness. Taxpayers fund the exorbitant salaries of our city administration, and it represents a significant portion of our city budget.

It’s time for us to demand that the City of Kamloops reduce administrative salaries.

These inflated wages must align more with comparable roles in the private sector. There’s no justification for such high wages; particularly when they continually rise above inflation.

This has simply become the historically accepted norm in cities across Canada without a municipal watchdog group advocating for taxpayers.

As the city with the second-highest property tax rates in BC; many Kamloops residents now need help to make ends meet.

Taxpayers and renters must unite on this issue, as landlords must raise rents to cover their property tax expenses.

Please share this information, and take a moment to make your voice heard.

The City of Kamloops doesn’t make it easy, but you can follow this link and find the “Q & A” tab halfway down the page. Leave your comments or questions there.
