A petition has been launched calling on the BC government to reverse the new 7% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) on business services, scheduled to take effect October 1, 2026.

The petition states:

Small businesses are already struggling.

Families are feeling the pressure.

Our economy cannot afford another added cost.

The Province raises PST.

The City raises property taxes and signals more to come.

When every level of government adds its piece, the combined weight becomes onerous for families and small businesses in Kamloops.
